THE ABBEY PUB WRAP UP - Chicago, IL
by: Paul Braun
Jim Peterik's Lifeforce recently played Chicago's Abbey Pub, and according to Jim, it went well.
"We had a great show at The Abbey. It was a good house, packed with people who really cared about us and the music and really got into it. Many people said it was the best Lifeforce show so far.
"It seemed like everyone was on their 'A' game. Lisa [McClowry] never sang better, the duets just blended beautifully, and we actually got standing ovations in the middle of the set!" said Peterik.
One of the "regulation" members of the band was MIA, though. Guitarist Mike Aquino had a previous commitment when the Abbey gig was booked, so Jim asked around for a substitue axeman and connected with Nick Colionne's guitarist, Dave Hiltebrand. Nick and JP have worked together quite a bit, and Dave was able to pick up the songs fairly quickly, according to Jim.
"Mikey will always be our main guitarist, but Dave did an excellent job standing in for him. Took a lot of the stress off me having to play with a substitute," said Jim.
Lifeforce is definitely a departure from Jim's traditional genres, but everywhere they've played, they've been warmly accepted by a fairly tough crowd. Keep an eye on www.jimpeterikslifeforce.com and www.jimpeterik.com for future dates. Get in on the love. You're missing some amazing music. |
